A club can compete in several leagues. First-team and youth-team placements are separate; a roster listing does not guarantee an appearance in a particular game.
Erik Arula began playing basketball at Rae Korvpallikool, where his first coach was Brett Nõmm. He later joined Virtus Bologna’s youth programme.
In a July 2026 Delfi interview, Arula confirmed his autumn move from Virtus U17 to U19. In that interview he also discussed his younger brother Albert, who belonged to Vanoli Cremona’s youth programme.
Arula represented Estonia at the 2025 U16 and 2026 U18 European championships. Across seven games at the 2025 U16 tournament, he averaged 8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists. He also made seven appearances at the U18 championship a year later.
